Wear Test: Loomstate for Barneys Green's Reflection Jeans

We recently pulled on a pair of jeans that Loomstate developed together with Barneys New York, a partnership that aspires to champion all that is sexy, stylish, and eco-friendly on and off the catwalk. Loomstate for Barneys Green's Reflection, dubbed the "ultimate green jean," is a straight-cut number that hugs your natural waist and elongates your legs with its clean, unbroken lines.

Made from ring-spun 100 percent organic-cotton yarns that are woven into denim fabric on vintage narrow shuttle looms right here in the U.S. of A., Reflection is buttery soft against your skin. Details we love: A green selvedge line that is visible on the out-seam when you turn up the hem of your pants; Loomstate's signature blank label perched on the belt line on the back; and polka-dot pocket linings, secreted within like a private joke we actually get.

One caveat: Contrary to what we've come to expect from our denim, these $295 jeans are by no means low-maintenance. Chucking 'em in the washer and dryer will cause colors to bleed and the fabric to shrink. In fact, Loomstate recommends you wash your jeans as infrequently as possible, and even then, while you're wearing them in the shower. ::Loomstate for Barneys Green
