Use Etsy to Find Local and Handcrafted Holiday Yoga Treats

For months I've been brainstorming how I might be able to incorporate more locally-made yoga loot into my yoga studio's retail nook. FitSugar beat me to it shining a golden halo upon Etsy's handmade yoga-inspired finds.

How could I have forgotten? 'Huggers heart Etsy.

My flame for the small-business and artisan supporting marketplace was re-kindled surfing the site's 263 items -- from mat bags, to hand-knit yoga socks, calming wall art and more -- made locally in my Brooklyn 'hood alone. Run a general yoga search and you'll find over 27,000 goodies from around the world.

Here are a few that made my list of favorites:

• This Primary Colors Yoga Mat Bag made from fabrics sewn by the shop owner who hand-picked the fabric while living in Uganda, working to promote women's and family health.
• Sleek silver lotus earrings.
• And these cozy, sweet seahorse silk-screened yoga pants made with non-toxic inks.
