With snow in the forecast for this weekend in New York, I'm dreaming of Big Sur-based Lina Rennell's spring/summer 2010 collection. "Triangle Gardens" exudes comfort with its seaside-essential designs executed with silk screen prints in metallic golds, lilacs, pale blues, and browns, and organic cotton and linen textiles. Click through for photos and our Q&A; with Designer Angelina Rennell:
TreeHugger: What was the manufacturing process; where were garments produced, and what dyes were used in the silk screening process?

Angelina Rennell: All the sewing and production is done locally in the bay area, workers are all working in great environments as well, benefits, health, etc. Prints are made by hand in the bay area and are screen printed with nontoxic, water, and soy-based inks. Fabrics are all natural; organic cotton and hemp linens, mostly. I do the knitting myself at my home, with natural dyed yarn that comes from a woman's co-op. There are always a few pieces in the line that I do 100% myself - start to finish. Right now I am working on embroidered pineapples. I can't do everything but I love to have a part of the collection that is very craft based and slow.

TH: Can you tell us more about the brand's commitment to sustainability?

AR: We're very committed to sustainability, in the fabrics, construction, and also the ideas that go into the work are art-driven and inspired by nature. We approach green ideas in all areas; lunch, travel, office supplies, etc. We are green people, and just wouldn't have it any other way!
