Kris Lovett's prototypes for her senior thesis bring a whole new level of meaning to the term "skate shoes." The University of Arts graduate reimagined used skateboard decks into fun and flirty women's shoes that showcase the boards' original multicolored hues.

A day of skateboarding provided the ah-ha moment Lovett was looking for. "While I was standing on the tail of my board I noticed the geometry that the skateboard made with the ground," he tells TreeHugger. "Since my shoe was used to create this geometry, I realized that women's heel/shoe fit perfectly into this geometry."
