Paloma Soledad, a custom costume and fashion designer, showed a collection centering around the corset -- matched with pirate-inspired shirts, eccentric hats, silk skirts with thigh-high slits -- reminiscent of her work on costumes for film Pirates of the Caribbean. And while her designs are not all that green, her corsets won the Emerging Designers Competition award at opening night of Portland Fashion Week. ::Paloma Soledad
