Read on for prize, entry, and contest details—plus our all-star judging panel. Then enter today! The Best Organic T-shirt Design’s Prize with a Purpose
Wolf Luedge, hessnatur’s CEO and managing director states,
It is a little known fact that the growth and harvesting of conventional cotton causes some of the world’s worst environmental pollution—one third of a pound of pesticides and fertilizers to create just one of the 2.4 billion tees produced globally every year. If we can highlight this in an engaging way, we are one step closer to making a healthier world.
This is precisely the purpose behind the design challenge and its prize. Wishing to prove to the world that organic cotton does matter and is far better than its conventional counterpart, Planet Green and hessnatur are asking entrants to make an eco-statement designing a print for a limited edition organic T-shirt. The winning design will make it onto the face of one of hessnatur’s Grameen tees, get mass manufactured and sold internationally!
But that’s not all. A percentage of the sales’ proceeds will go to the Grameen Foundation founded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunis, who pioneered micro-financing. So not only will designer get there name out there to the world—they’ll be getting a nod from one of the world’s movers and shakers Dr. Yunis himself.
Our Green Fashion Savvy Judges
In addition to winning over Planet Green readers, entrants will also have to impress our esteemed panel of eco-fashionista judges:
