London Fashion Week - People Tree Collaborate with Eley Kishimoto for AW09
We're big fans of People Tree not only for their pioneering use of organic cotton, Fairtrade practices and the People Tree Foundation that launched last week, but also for their ability to bring some of the biggest names in fashion into the ethical fold. Their collaborations with designers such as Richard Nicholl and Bora Aksu have bridged what was an ever widening gap between the mainstream industry and its ethical counterpart. Last week at Estethica we saw the unveiling of People Tree's latest top notch collaboration with Eley Kishimoto for their AW09 collection. Click through for more images...
The Japanese/British duo of Eley Kishimoto are well known for their bright and bold prints and for their excellent collaborations. Their latest with pairing People Tree is no exception and is particularly fitting considering People Tree's anglo/japanese relations.
For People Tree AW09 Eley Kishimoto they bring their inimitable style to the ethical fashion world using hand blocked prints in black, white and red on organic cotton jersey. There is a radiating line design and a floral bunny earred print both of which are featured on loose dresses with tie belts and long sleeved tops with ribbon ties at the neck.
Whilst normally we'd be excited about looking forward to the warmth of spring/summer about now, we've leaped ahead to imagining how these cheerful prints will brighten up our dull autumn/winter days later on in the year!
