Handmade Kids Booties Help Keep WeeHuggers Warm

Earlier this season we oohed and awed over cute, cozy slippers made with recycled wool sweaters and leather jackets and now, there's another crush-worthy slipper company that has us looking for a WeeHugger of our own to dress. Enter Orland Boot and Shoe Company, whose adorable booties are handmade with recycled sweaters. The Orland Boot & Shoe Company was born shortly after the birth of founder Heather River's first child in May 2010. River said she was frustrated with ill-fitting shoes and socks and sat down at the sewing machine to craft her own booties for her little one; of course, her degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) helped. Today, the young company makes childrens booties--in sizes 3-6 months and 6-9 months--made with recycled merino wool and cashmere, cotton, and topped off with a vintage buttons.
