Gypsy 05 Apparel Brings Age of Aquarius to Hollywood

Shaking off eco duds' crunchy connotations (hemp, tie-dye, Birkies) hasn't been easy, even 40 years after Woodstock. But Gypsy 05 comes full circle with an aesthetic that's more hip than hippie, with billowing tie-dyed maxi dresses (which are not for the short of stature, we've learned), psychedelic peasant blouses, ombre mini-frocks, and color-burst sweater wraps.Made sweat-shop-free in Los Angeles, frequently with organic cotton, Gypsy 05's free-spirited garb can be spotted draping the forms of Tinseltown's more famous--or notorious--denizens, like Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Conrad, Christina Aguilera, and Ashlee Simpson.

If we were to play favorites, the subtly striated, chocolate-dipped Organic Maxi would be on the top of our list, although the Liyah off-shoulder, asymmetrical dress slides in at a close second. And if we were perfectly honest, we also totally dig the radically far-out shawl cardi, even if just looking at it gives us acid flashbacks.
In keeping with its bohemian roots, Gypsy 05 uses only low-impact dyes and water-based inks, which, if you ask us, is pretty groovy indeed.
