Designers & Agents' 2009 Green Room Shows Off Fresh Crop of Eco Designers

Packaged in boxes made from compostable coconut husks, Po-Zu's shoes are 99 percent biodegradable. Wool, hemp, and vegetable-tanned-leather uppers are sewn to vegetable-rubber soles, a process that avoids potentially toxic glues and solvents.The Po-Zu factory in New Delhi, India, is Ethical Trading Code-certified, and a portion of proceeds goes toward healthcare for the shoemakers and education for their children.
