A Bollywood actress is proving going green has never been sexier. Earlier this month Franchise India released its exclusive Go Green 2010 calendar, which supports the Go Green Franchise Community Initiative, and the images of Neha Dhupia are breathtaking.
Topless in some images and wearing creations by fashion designer Neeta Lulla in others, Dhupia exudes strength, sexuality, and earthiness. The images are a stunning blend of impeccable lighting, fantastic angles, and brilliant photography from famed fashion photographer Jatin Kampani -- and a healthy dose of Photoshop. The program funded by the calendar is focused on raising awareness about environmental conservation through India's businesses, according to IndianExpress.com.
The calendar's imagery blends nature and fashion, impressing on the viewer the idea that nature is ever-present in our lives, says Lulla:
The calendar is one of a kind. It successfully integrates nature with fashion to create images that bring about eco-consciousness amongst the onlookers. It truly exemplifies the spirit of green design. I'm certain that this marriage of fashion and social responsibility will create an impact by reaching out to people who can initiate change and make a difference.
Much is being made of the fact that Dhupia is topless in some of the photos, and some bloggers have been quick to label the former Miss India a "babe" and snarkily point out that she's more of a celebrity than a movie star, but there's no denying the calendar is a work of art.
And Dhupia certainly isn't upset by it. She told NewKerala.com that she "grabbed this opportunity of making people aware of today's need to protect the environment" because green living is important to her. For Dhupia, nature is at the heart of life:
Despite all the progress man has made, you are there in this world because of nature. Nature is our ultimate parent. And hence, nature deserves respect, love and compassion. Going green is one way to do it!
