Bloomingdale's has a surprise in store for shoppers this Earth Month; beginning April 1 through April 22, Little Green Boutiques will pop up in department stores across the country. The shops-within-a-shop will carry exclusive merchandise, including reusable tote bag, pictured above; sustainable umbrellas; and water bottles, with 10% of proceeds benefitting the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

EXCLUSIVE: Rumor has it that Designer JoAnn Berman, whose collection we covered during New York Fashion Week, will be featured in the boutiques (the retailer has yet to confirm). Click through for more from Bloomingdale's, including Loomstate's sustainable surf collection:

Bloomingdale's ensures that shoppers across the country will be stimulated with green animation this month. The NRDC film, "Acid Test, " narrated by Sigourney Weaver, coming attractions from Disneynature's film "Oceans," and celebrity testimonials on how to green your life with easy steps from the NRDC will be playing at our "Good Deeds" walls throughout store locations. Shoppers will have the opportunity to obtain tickets to special screenings for "Oceans" through special in-store and online promotions.

Loomstate and the Surf Lodge Collaborate on Surf Collection

Rogan Gregory, of Loomstate, and Rob McKinley, co-owner of the Surf Lodge in Montauk, NY, collaborate to launch a sustainable surf collection exclusively sold at Bloomingdale's, proceeds from the collection will benefit the Surfrider Foundation.

The department store chain has also completed the first installment of solar power rooftop panels in their Bergen County, NJ store; additional installments will roll out in other stores in the coming months.

According to our insider, Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal will be turned into an eco exibition hall with a green boutique on Earth Day.
