A Perfume Organic Promises Fresh Scents Sans Chemicals

From California teens protesting Abercrombie & Fitch's toxic perfume to secret chemicals found in popular perfumes, I've written a slew of stories on the chemicals in common fragrances. So for the sake of a fresh scent sans chemicals, here's A Perfume Organic. The New York based perfumery offers hand-poured perfume using USDA certified organic ingredients that smell good, too.

A Perfume Organic employs packaging embedded with flower seeds -- so you can plant them after you get them in the mail -- and all marketing materials are printed on recycled paper with vegetable inks. When it comes to perfume, it's what's on the inside -- the scent -- that matters most: their perfumes are never tested on animals, they are free
petrochemicals, solvents, dyes, alcohol, pesticides, and synthetic chemicals, and are USDA certified organic by Oregon Tilth (OTCO).

Greenies will likely gravitate toward the eponymous scent, Green, which is mixture of rose, chamomile, black truffle, and ylang ylang. Their newest scent, Mejica, is a luscious blend of three vanillas and spices.

Full size, 12ml roll-on bottles are $65, available at A Perfume Organic with free shipping. And because we all know smelling is believing when it comes to choosing the right scent, they have a sample set for $22, which they were kind enough to send to me, that includes 1ml tester vials with their five perfumes, Green, Urban Organic, White Magik, Perfumed Wine - Rosé, and Mejica.
