Solar Industry Tries to Force U-Turn on Feed-In Tariff Review

The row over solar feed-in tariffs continues in the UK. According to Business Green, the solar industry is launching two separate campaigns trying to force a u-turn on the government decision to review its funding for industrial-scale solar. Mark Shorrock, chief executive of Low Carbon Solar, told Business Green the move would harm many community-based projects, as well as big solar farm developers: "In pulling back on a commitment to support solar energy, the government will cause the abandonment of scores of 'Big Society' community-owned schemes and hundreds of other developments that could have seen individual parishes benefit from up to £25,000 every year and more local jobs created,"
