The lovely thing about Clerkenwell Design Week is how it brings good design to the public. When contemporary design is plunked in parks and squares people have to engage with it whether they want to or not. That's how you learn....

This Tile Mile is located inside St. John's Gate; a medieval arch dating from 1504. Modern Turkish tiles on the floor are reflected in the mirrors on both sides of the walkway. The designers, Russ + Henshaw, used 7,200 ceramic tiles to create the colourful passageway, purposely choosing colours that reference the traditional ceramics of that country.
