In 1908, to promote use of the Underground in off-peak hours, Pick started serious marketing of the system, promoting Sunday excursions and leisure activities, not to mention helping out those real estate developers creating the streetcar suburbs. He commissioned some well-known artists, but wanted to really make them stand out.
