The High Line park on Manhattan's west side, currently running from the Meatpacking District to 30th Street in Midtown has just a half mile to be completed—extending the hyper-succesful elevated park to 34th Street and completing the renovation of railway unused since the 1980s. Last weekend I got a chance, as part of Uniqlo's Rail Yards Weekends, to tour the uncompleted section, getting a glimpse at where the High Line is heading, as well as a look back to what the entire park used to look like, overgrown with grass, wildflowers and even apple trees.
