Peak leaf peeping season is here in western Massachusetts — at least according to the folks at Foliage Network — and if you're at all wondering where to go but don't want a strenuous outing, then Bartholomew's Cobble in the southwest corner of the state is just the thing. About 5 miles of winding, slightly hilly trails take you through old forest, farmland, and lowland along the Houstatonic River. One of the prettiest, most accessible hikes in lower New England. Get on it, as I did last weekend.
