Photo of the Day: Canoeing on Lake Louise

Though fall is really just starting where I live (New York City), hints of winter are already upon some places, with Colorado, Vermont, and parts of the upper Midwest getting snow. One small ski area in Minnesota even briefly opened. Lake Louise, Canada has gotten snow a couple times in the past month. It all adds up to sliding on snow happening soon, the annual fall anticipation, as sure as the leaves changing.

But until then, getting out on the water, either in a canoe as here or in the waves with a thicker wetsuit closer to home, as I'll be doing, seems like the smart plan.
