Designed by de Rijke Marsh Morgan Architects (dRMM), there are 187 steps composed from interlocking, cross-laminated tulipwood. The series of timber stairs lead up to the top which acts as a dramatic viewing station over the River Thames.

It was created in association with the American Hardwood Export Council. Not only do they arrange for the donation of the materials, they also do a detailed life-cycle analysis of the work from start to finish to trace the sustainability.
