Unusual trash sculptures can be found in the most unlikely of places. This road runner sculpture was found on a hill above Las Cruces, New Mexico. The belly is made of white and light colored sneakers and the rest is made up of a huge range of junked pieces, from appliance parts to children's toys - whatever way handy at the city dump where it was created and lived until getting a prime spot atop the hill. Standing somewhere between 15 and 20 feet tall, it is actually the world's largest road runner - as roadside oddities all tend to be a "world's largest" of some sort. It is one example of how trash can be transformed into quite a landmark.
