But it is most definitely 3D, and it is totally digital. I am buying these chairs from D E Sellers in Brooklyn, having the design sent to a router at Ryerson University School of Interior Design in Toronto, and assembling them at my home.

Look at the difference between that and shopping at IKEA: I get to pick the design that I want from anywhere in the world, there is no intermediary between me and the designer, there is no inventory, packaging or transport of the finished good; just a digital file sent to my local CNC machine and a short bike ride home with it.
