Julia Goodman junk mail vortex photo

Julia Goodman created this piece called "Certain is nothing now" mainly from a year's worth of junk mail collected from her neighborhood and sorted by color. Using the blues, she sculpted over 40 rings of decreasing size that are hung from the air. When sitting in front of it, it looks like a vortex ready to suck you in, and one can't help but contemplate the sheer mass of paper that is sent to us on a weekly basis. If you want to avoid being buried in junk mail, be sure to sign up for opting out.
