Are you planning on doing some camping this summer? If you are, and you're up for a little do-it-yourself project, you'll love this solar water heater. Made from old water bottles and a car windshield shade, it uses sunlight to heat a small amount of water to up to 196° F.
It takes a few hours to hit that temperature, but because you can strap it to the outside of your backpack and let it work while you walk, by the time you make camp, your H2O will be piping hot. Perfect for making those freeze-dried meals into dinner.
This project is the work of Instructables user Kim, aka kopomeroy. Special thanks to him for his permission to post it here.
