Photo: Northern cardinal sits bright among the berries

This Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) was spotted at the Montreal Botanical Garden. Cardinals don’t migrate south in the winter, so they can be spotted year-round in the eastern half of the U.S., Mexico and parts of southeastern Canada.
