Though much of the oceans remain unexplored, the places we are most familiar with -- coral reefs -- are in serious peril. Coral reefs are home to the majority of marine diversity and the health of these ecosystems in part determine the health of the broader ocean. Some experts say most coral reefs will be completely gone by 2050. The importance of protecting these delicate ecosystems can't be understated.
