Through the River and Over the Woods: Migratory Wildlife on Epic Journeys
Peter Cairns photographed this osprey flexing its wings. Ospreys migrate from Scotland to West Africa. The difficulty of the journey was highlighted when the Highland Foundation for Wildlife began tracking one osprey family publicly. The migration had a sad end when Logie, the mama osprey, lost both of her chicks two years running before disappearing from the radar herself.
