Though a moment is captured by a photographer, that moment is created by both the photographer and the subject. Sometimes it is hard to tell who is really the one being recorded, as is the case with this macaque.
Photographer Sham Jolimie writes, "In certain parts of the world, namely Mauritius, macaques are being sold as test subjects to laboratories despite fierce opposition to it from animal activists. This photo is dedicated to those who are being subjected to the torture of vivisection and painful toxicity tests for biomedical research."
