Namibia, which is named after the Namib desert (pictured above), is the second most sparsely populated country in the world. It is also home to the world's largest population of cheetahs, about 2,500 of them at last count. Fewer than 10,000 adult cheetahs exist in Africa, and only 50 in Asia.
