Delicate Arch, indeed! The natural arches in Arches National Park all have names, including Delicate Arch. The name couldn't be more fitting. These arches are truly delicate in that they can topple at any time as the cracks in their structure grow. While it could be a thousand years before Delicate Arch crumbles, it could also be during the next freak storm.
But while the potential cause of their destruction is somewhat obvious, less obvious is exactly how they formed. Delicate Arch proves to be the perfect example. Click to the next slide to learn why.
