A picture may be worth a thousand words, but in most cases it pales in comparison to the intensity of the actual image. For some photographers, capturing the full range of light and luminosity perceived by the human eye on film is not only a challenge—it's a point of inspiration.
Using a technique called "high dynamic range imaging," or HDR, photographs reveal a landscapes as they've never been seen before—with multiple layers of light at once merged and distinct. More realistic and detailed than other types of photography, HDR nature photos are simply awe-inspiring.
