Best Biomimicry: Rescue Spider by the Fraunhofer Institute

Biomimicry is all about looking at nature to find solutions to human problems.
In this case, the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany took inspiration from a creature that tends to cause a lot of fear in humans -- fear of spiders is one of the most common phobias -- and turned it into a robot that could potentially save many lives by accessing terrain that is beyond human reach, in order to find people in need.
You can bet that the victims of a natural catastrophe or other accident will be glad to see this spider coming!
