A View of Kenya by Air and by Car
No one knows the exact population of Kibera, the giant slum on the edge of Nairobi, but best estimates are about one million people. These dwellings are of the most rudimentary nature and are made from corrugated metal, often placed directly on top of garbage. The Government has been working on upgrading one section of the slum and has just announced that the first 600 homes will be ready for occupancy by August of this year. It doesn't seem like much, but I guess you have to start somewhere.
