Composting isn't the only way to dispose of disposable diapers in a more sustainable manner. In fact Mike reported on research that shows throw-away diapers can be broken down by oyster mushrooms in just two months!
What's more, despite the mushrooms rather unpleasant "feedstock," the researchers claim that the resulting shrooms—which feed on the cellulose—are 100% safe to eat. And they've put their, errm, money where their mouth is by trying some themselves.
