Where to get the chilies mentioned in the previous recipe? This is just a tiny selection of the different types of hot peppers available in Union Square. But juxtaposed against all those eggplants it's the perfect start to a great dish.
A word about eggplant: Much like the potato selection, once you realize that there's much much more variety in eggplants to the over-sized eggplants sold in the supermarket, you may well start developing disdain for the behemoths. Instead, head for the small green or white Turkish ones, or the small Asian ones. Much better texture, if you ask me.
