The first step is figuring out what you want to do with the grapes you're growing: Do you want to make wine? Eat them fresh off the vine? Turn them into jelly or preserves? Each variety is suited to a different purpose.
The most common table grapes and raisin grapes are Thompson seedless; you can also look for Ruby Seedless and Perlette, or seeded Emperor or Calmeria.
Jelly, juice, and jam are often made from Concord grapes, and the most common wine grape are those from the European Vitis vinifera family.
