In the buildup to the Passive House North Conference in Vancouver in September, I asked Monte Paulsen of the Canadian Passive House Institute to send along information about Passivhaus projects in the Vancouver area.

This is designer Lukas Armstrong's triplex in Nelson, British Columbia.

‚ÄčA medium-density, intergenerational building, the Bedford Road project in Nelson has addressed the ideas of durability, toxicity, budget, aging in place, small-space design and the creation of warm, natural spaces using solid, real materials. In fact, the design/build team and their families are the clients for this super-efficient building.
