You can make a pinhole camera out of all sorts of things, even dumpsters. Basically, you want something that can be a light-tight container, with just a tiny pinhole to let in light for the exposure. In an interview on Phoblographer, Matt says he simply used an empty beer can with the top removed and a hole made with a pin, a card lid held on with gaffer tape, and a sheet of 5x7 photographic paper inside.
