The Manchester Street Power Station is located in Providence, Rhode Island, by the Providence river and the Fox point hurricane barrier. It generates enough electricity to power about 112,000 homes. It used to be an oil-fired plant, but multi-million dollar renovations converted it to natural gas, and included a new turbine/generator, relocating of oil tanks, as well as building a new public access park along the river.
