Given his genteel personality and that he's said the burgeoning climate movement is one made without celebrity endorsement, Bill McKibben will probably hate the fact that he's being given a Best of Green Award for being the picture-perfect ambassador for the green movement. But heck, given the reception you get from admirers, Bill, you're already a celebrity.
So why is McKibben the best green ambassador? Because he possesses a combination of charisma, powerful oratory, and, perhaps most importantly, a passionately articulated, positive vision of what a more environmentally sustainable world might look like.
