Over in the UK, former bus-dwelling hippy Dale Vince has built Ecotricity, a wind energy empire that got him listed among the UK's richest citizens. As discussed in my live chat with the man back in 2011, he has used his success as a platform for launching multiple clean energy and sustainability interventions. Whether he's building some of the UK's biggest solar farms; developing electric supercars and nationwide electric car charging networks; supporting fledgling wave energy devices or banning meat from the stands at the football club he owns, Vince is well known for his high profile activism and wide-ranging investment strategies. He's also no stranger to controversy, picking fights with huge utilities and competing wind energy suppliers alike.
