1) Hire People, Not Machines

Werbach says, "In a low-employment world it's increasingly rational to hire people to do tasks that machines can do." Of course, 'rational' in this context means rational in a business sense. In a broader sense I don't know if it ever was rational to think that replacing people with machines was a good idea.

"Unfortunately, a lot of companies view technology as an alternative, rather than a supplement to human work," Werbach adds.
