In a sign that composting toilets may finally be gaining mainstream traction, they merited a positive story by none other than Fox News. Having admitted to misgivings about odors and unpleasantry, the Fox correspondent was pleasantly surprised to find that a modern composting loo doesn't smell, is perfectly hygienic, and can offer significant advantages over its sewer connected counterparts.

From cabins in the woods to adding on bathrooms without the need for plumbing, the article showed that there are plenty of reasons to consider a composting toilet—even before you take into account the significant benefits for the environment.
