Ignore the solar power doomsayers in Congress and in the polluting class on Solyndra representing the solar power industry. As a new piece over at Think Progress rightly highlights, the US solar industry is actually one of the fastest growing in America. Last year US solar grew 102%, with similar doubling growth expected this year. In fact the US had a $1.9 billion trade surplus in solar power products in 2010, with 73% of economic value of solar power installations remaining in the country.
