nPower PEG Harnesses Kinetic Energy in a Stick

A new kinetic energy-harnessing device was launched at CES 2009. Called the nPower PEG (Personal Energy Generator), its a stick you can shake to generate enough energy to power your mobile devices.Tremont Electric's device is really basic - just shake a stick. And the company says it charges at a rate similar to wall chargers, so one hour of walking around with this stick in your hand is enough to power a gadget about 80% full. Might as well carry it during your morning walk or jog and charge up a gadget or two off grid.

It's a little pricey - about $150. But for being able to get a charge for your cell phone anywhere you go, that's a reasonable price tag. It's also compatible with 90% of devices, thanks to interchangeable adapter tips.
