Match Stick Garden

It's a portable garden; it's a miniature form of guerrilla gardening. Slip it in your pocket, sneak it across borders, pop the matchsticks into random pots--bring joy wherever you go. Simply tear off a matchstick, plant it tip first in soil and soon you will have a flower or herb garden growing. On the tip of each match there are pre-mixed seeds . We got ours at the estimable Acorn Restaurant, as a give-away (pictured). But Matchstick Gardens sell them in two varieties: wildflowers or herbs. The mixed herb garden contains basil, chives, parsley and thyme. The wildflower garden has cornflowers, shasta daisies, marigolds and poppies. If you would rather use your lipstick, PlantLove is infused with wildflower seeds and when you are finished with it, plant it and it will sprout flowers. Spring is coming: be prepared. :: Matchstick Gardens
