David Attenborough Calls Humans a "Plague Upon the Earth"

In a recent interview with Radio Times, the iconic naturalist and narrator Sir David Attenborough stated, “We are a plague on the Earth. It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so...It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde."

It's something we've discussed quite a bit here on TreeHugger: the role of human population growth and the decimation of ecosystems. While the words "plague upon the Earth" might be hard for some folks to swallow, Attenborough is simply telling us it's time to face facts: There are too many humans for this planet to support.
