Furniture designer Miki Iwasaki started by building skateboard ramps in his parents' garage; he now holds a Master of Architecture Degree from Harvard University and is the founder and designer behind mi-workshop's well-crafted, timeless furniture and accessories. Building each piece by hand, one at a time in their studio, the workshop is dedicated to making quality pieces using environmentally-conscious methods and materials. Much of the wood used is reclaimed, sourced domestically or recycled, and low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), water-based finishes are used throughout the collection. The simple, elegant designs really make the natural beauty of the wood the focal point of the designs, from the Delphin Table's black walnut top (left) to the MR Bed's bamboo plywood head and footboard (center) to the KM Stepstool's reclaimed black walnut top and pigmented eco-resin inlay (right).
