In our discussion of the future of the bookshelf, I noted that they are turning into display units for tchotchkes rather than books. The Bouroullec Brothers step up with their contribution to the shrinking of the shelf with Corniche, designed for Vitra.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are quoted in the David Report:

The idea behind this design arose from the need for small storage spaces to spontaneously keep items, says Ronan Bouroullec....Corniches are individual protrusions in the environments that can be used and organized freely, to put items of daily use to keep them at one’s fingertips or to make a larger installation, says Erwan Bouroullec.

If nothing else, it could be a terrific climbing wall.
