Weekday Vegetarian: 45 Recipes for Chinese New Year

All Photos by Kelly Rossiter

In our family, Chinese meals are a pretty frequent occurrence, but lots of people only know it only through take-out or visits to their local Chinese restaurant. You don't have to find Chinese cooking daunting, especially as most grocery stores carry many of the ingredients that were previously difficult to come by. I still like to venture down to Chinatown in Toronto, but now I can get most of the things I need in my own neighbourhood.Because this is such a large list of recipes, I have included some meat recipes, which you can make on the weekend. However, most of these recipes, such as pot stickers and spring rolls can easily be made without meat.

Welcome to the Year of the Rabbit. From all accounts this is an auspicious sign, and perhaps signals a good year to come.
